Job summary

Clayton Legal is recruiting a Costs Draftsperson for its established costs department in the UK. The role supports senior case handlers, drafting bills for Detailed Assessment and N260 statements, and preparing budgets for a mix of fast-track and multi-track personal injury cases.

You should have 12 months to 5 years' costs experience, a legal qualification desirable, and strong drafting and time-management skills.

Qualifications

• 12 months to five years' personal injury claimant costs experience.
• Completion of a legal qualification (LLB, GDL, LPC) desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Drafting skills associated with Precedent H, R, and Q, and finalising formal bills.
• Experience of working to target.
• Flexible approach with ability to respond to rapid changes in schedules and priorities.
• Knowledge of time recording procedures and the Civil Procedures Rules and Detailed Assessment process.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office packages.

• Supporting costs case handlers with a full range of drafting requirements.
