Job summary

Strategic Resources European Recruitment Consultants Ltd is seeking an experienced Cost Controller for an Oil and Gas Operator. The role offers hybrid working under a 12-month PAYE contract, focusing on cost control, budgeting, forecasts and cost reporting.

You will interface between Operations and Finance to ensure accurate cost information, lead monthly cost reviews, and support P2P processes with robust data and analysis.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified and/or appropriate experience and qualifications.
• Understanding of Upstream E&P industry requirements.
• Strong cost management understanding including VO/WIP and forecast to complete.
• Solid contracts and procurement knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with finance systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills across all organisational levels.
• Focus on service delivery and stakeholder responsiveness.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of accurate and timely cost information.
• Drive monthly cost reviews with budget holders.
• Work with budget holders to prepare business plans, VO/WIP, and forecasts.
• Track commitments and invoices against activities.
• Support business P2P process as required.
• Liaise with Supply Chain on invoice related issues.
• Provide information for cost allocations cycles as required.
• Prepare variance and trend analyses as required.
• Collaborate with budget owners, contract owners and accountants.
• Undertake reconciliation or deep-dive exercises as required.
• Provide ad-hoc cost analyses and management presentations.
• ER Allowance – may be required to join emergency response rota.
