Job summary

Strategic Resources European Recruitment Consultants Ltd is seeking an experienced Cost Controller for an Oil and Gas Operator. The role offers hybrid working under a 12-month PAYE contract, focusing on cost control, budgeting, forecasts and cost reporting.

You will interface between Operations and Finance to ensure accurate cost information, lead monthly cost reviews, and support P2P processes with robust data and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of accurate and timely cost information.
• Drive monthly cost reviews with budget holders.
• Work with budget holders to prepare business plans, VO/WIP, and forecasts.
• Track commitments and invoices against activities.
• Support business P2P process as required.
• Liaise with Supply Chain on invoice related issues.
• Provide information for cost allocations cycles as required.
• Prepare variance and trend analyses as required.
• Collaborate with budget owners, contract owners and accountants.
• Undertake reconciliation or deep-dive exercises as required.
• Provide ad-hoc cost analyses and management presentations.
• ER Allowance – may be required to join emergency response rota.

Job description

Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator is seeking an experienced Cost Controller. Is an initial 12 month PAYE contract role with a Hybrid Working system in place.

Purpose of Role:

Provide Cost Control support to the required function. Maintain cost tracking data, provide regular cost reporting updates and administer detailed budget/forecasts to the incumbent budget holder(s). Focal Interface between Operations and Finance functions to ensure accurate cost information and budgeting activities.

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

• Delivery of accurate and timely cost information
• Drive monthly cost reviews with incumbent budget holders
• Works with budget holders to prepare business plans, Value of Work Done, and forecasts
• Tracks commitments and invoices against activities
• Support business P2P process for area as required
• Liaise with Supply Chain on invoice related issues as appropriate.
• Provision of information for cost allocations cycles as required
• Prepares variance and trend analysis as required
• Collaborates with key stakeholders including budget owners, contract owners and accountants

• ER Allowance - The postholder may be required to join the emergency response rota should this become a requirement of the position.

Degree qualified and/or appropriate experience and qualifications
