Job summary

Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) is recruiting a Contract Manager to oversee day-to-day relationship and contract management for a portfolio of major energy projects. You will operate in a not-for-profit setting, focusing on safeguarding investors’ confidence and protecting consumers while enabling project delivery.

The role involves managing complex contracts across wind, CCUS, hydrogen and other low-carbon schemes, with site visits and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience of operational delivery of construction or energy contracts.
• Strong contract administration and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Enabling the delivery of contracts, from signature into operations, so that the project delivers its low carbon energy (renewable power generation, hydrogen production, CCUS).
• Day-to-day relationship and contract management of assigned contracts (circa 20 projects, ranging in value from c.£50m to £1bn) and associated workload and tasks, including site visits, communications and document management, and reporting.
• Owning and managing all contractual processes and issues, including being actively curious in identifying and resolving potential disputes and escalating emerging issues or suggested improvements when appropriate.
• Applying judgement to the management of the contracts, based on LCCC’s overarching interpretation of the contract and in line with LCCC guidance.
• Working collaboratively with counterparties to satisfy contract requirements and project management to enable the commencement of payments under the respective contract.
• Ensuring ongoing contract compliance related to Fuel Measurement and Sampling (FMS), Renewable Qualifying Multiplier (RQM) and other Sustainability Criteria.
• Understanding the financial and technical analysis and being able to competently procure and manage external advisers to conduct this on LCCC’s behalf where necessary.
• Providing analysis and advice in relation to existing and/or new schemes or other LCCC functions.
