Allianz is recruiting for a Construction Underwriter to join our expert-led Commercial team. You’ll focus on retaining and growing a Construction portfolio, building strong broker relationships, and delivering favourable renewal terms while supporting a world-class Insurance & Engineering offering.

The role is hybrid, based in Birmingham or Bristol with 2–3 days in the office. You’ll assess risk, price appropriately, and collaborate with Claims, Operations and Risk teams to drive sustainable

Qualifications

• Experience in construction underwriting, including casualty/liability covers.
• Strong understanding of existing business and renewals.
• Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with brokers and negotiating outcomes.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex risks and market conditions.
• Commercial awareness with a focus on profitable growth and retention.
• Self-motivated team player with the ability to support and mentor others.

Responsabilités

• Manage and retain an existing Construction portfolio, delivering timely, accurate and profitable renewal terms.
• Assess and price risk in line with Allianz appetite and underwriting strategy.
• Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships through regular engagement.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers to secure sustainable business.
• Contribute to regional underwriting strategy and key business initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Claims, Operations, and Risk teams.
• Represent Allianz positively in the market, attending broker and client meetings.
