Allianz UK is seeking a Construction Underwriter to join our expert-led Commercial team. You will manage and retain a Construction portfolio, price risk, and negotiate terms with brokers to drive profitable renewal outcomes.

Based in Birmingham or Bristol, the role offers hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office weekly, and a wide range of flexible benefits and career development within the Allianz group.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction underwriting, including casualty/liability covers.
• Strong understanding of existing business and renewals.
• Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with brokers and negotiating outcomes.

Role Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our expert-led Allianz Commercial team as a Construction Underwriter.

You will be at the heart of key broker relationships, with a primary focus on retaining and developing our existing Construction portfolio. Working closely with brokers and internal stakeholders, you will deliver strong underwriting outcomes, excellent service, and sustainable growth across the account.

You will support the development of a world-class, multi-niche Insurance & Engineering offering, contributing to ambitious regional growth targets.

Location: This role is based in either of our Birmingham or Bristol offices, please note that this is a hybrid working role with the expectation that you attend the office 2-3 days per week.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £40,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You
