Job summary

Cambridge Cognition is seeking a Clinical Data Manager to take ownership of data management across clinical studies, from start-up to database lock. You’ll join the Data Management team, ensuring data integrity and that documentation supports regulatory decisions.

This is a full-time permanent role offering hybrid working: 2–3 days in our Bottisham office and the remainder from home. Salary £40,000–£48,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Clinical Data Manager or similar role within a clinical trial environment.
• Practical experience with an Electronic Data Capture tool and ICH-GCP data management practices.
• Experience using AI to analyse data and willingness to learn new tools.
• Understanding of clinical trial lifecycle or interest in clinical research.
• Methodical, detail-oriented approach with strong root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience maintaining data quality records to GCP standards.
• Ability to manage multiple studies and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including client-facing experience.
• Autonomous working style with proactive problem-flagging.
• Curiosity to challenge current processes and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate data management from kick-off to database lock and transfer.
• Serve as primary DM contact for clients, building trust-based relationships.
• Develop and maintain Data Management Plans and data transfer agreements.
• Perform data cleaning, query management, and reconciliation.
• Set up and test data transfers; develop transfer code and QC processes.
• Build client reports and data extracts using ETL tools.
• Provide estimates for DM deliverables and manage SLAs.
• Review study priorities and escalate changes early.
• Support audits and regulatory inspections with clear DM processes.
• Challenge SOPs and share improvements with the wider team.
• Collaborate with clinical scientists, statisticians, PMs, and sponsors.
