Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced ACC Clinical Coder to fill the Clinical Coding Delivery Manager role. You will lead the day-to-day operations of the clinical coding team, ensure timely and accurate coding for SUS deadlines, and support Payment by Results across MWL sites.

Hybrid and flexible working options are available. The post requires strong leadership, knowledge of DSPT standards, and the ability to liaise with clinicians and trust staff.

Qualifications

• ACC is essential for the role and UK registration is expected.
• Degree level education or equivalent and managerial experience are required.
• Experience selecting appropriate diagnoses/procedures with national standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of clinical coding staff and operations.
• Ensure coding is completed on time and to quality standards within SUS deadlines.
• Manage coding queries and liaise with clinicians and staff on coding issues.
• Plan workload, review rotas, and provide progress updates to the Coding Manager.
• Stay up to date with coding guidance and drive knowledge within the team.
