Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Clinical Coding Qualified Auditor to join our Clinical Coding team. This senior specialist role supports the delivery of the Trust's annual clinical coding audit programme, including evidence for the DSPT Data Security Standard 1.

The post requires advanced knowledge of ICD-10/OPCS-4, and experience in re-coding complex cases, with mentoring provided to the wider coding team. The role is hybrid between Bolton Hospital and home.

Competenze

• Approved Clinical Coding Auditor status or ACC with 3+ years post-accreditation.
• Committed to achieving auditor accreditation within 18 months of appointment.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4.
• Experience in re-coding complex cases and auditing across specialties.

Mansioni

• Undertake re-coding of inpatient and day-case episodes, including complex cases, against ICD-10 and OPCS-4.
• Apply audit sampling instructions to contribute to the annual audit plan.
• Identify recurring error types and provide evidence-based insights.
• Liaise with clinicians to clarify documentation and support improvement work.
• Produce coding quality reports and contribute to DSPT evidence.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to the coding team.
• Support training and induction in coding standards and audit methodology.
• Maintain auditable records of coding and audit activity.
