The Met Office invites applications for a Climate Metadata Analyst Industrial Placement starting July 2027. This 12-month Year in Industry placement offers hands-on work on observational metadata and climate data, with opportunities to interact with a wide cohort and contribute to reports and communications.

Qualifications

• Must be able to analyse data from multiple sources and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience with observational metadata and data handling is desirable.
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess diverse evidence relating to metadata from sites and instruments.
• Be part of an operational team providing live observational data to Met Office products.
• Support relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders to uphold Met Office reputation.
