Job summary

Barker Associates, a multidisciplinary property consultancy, is seeking a Civil Engineer to support delivery of civil engineering services on UK projects. The role is based in Braintree or London with potential hybrid working and a focus on collaboration across design teams.

You will develop designs with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, prepare calculations, and contribute to reports and client meetings. A degree in civil engineering and consultancy experience are required, with knowledge of drainage,

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in civil engineering design in a consultancy environment.
• Experience on residential civil engineering projects; education-sector exposure desirable.
• Understanding of drainage design, highways design, and infrastructure design.
• Awareness of SuDS and surface water management principles.
• Ability to prepare technical drawings, calculations and reports.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience attending client briefs and pre-contract visits.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prepare calculations and hydraulic models with senior support.
• Inspect infrastructure and write follow-up technical reports.
• Draft documentation and project drawings for final issue.
• Attend meetings including pre-contract visits and client briefs.
