Job summary

Barker Associates, an award-winning, employee-owned property consultancy, is hiring a Civil Engineer to join a diverse UK portfolio. You will deliver civil design tasks, support with drainage and infrastructure projects, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on site and in the office.

The role offers hybrid working between our London and Braintree offices, a pro-active development path, and a commitment to sustainability across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in civil engineering design in a consultancy environment.
• Experience on residential civil engineering projects; education-sector experience desirable.
• Understanding of drainage, highways and infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience desirable.
• Awareness of SuDS and surface water management.
• Ability to prepare drawings, calculations and reports.
• Strong communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience attending client briefs and pre-contract visits.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prepare calculations and hydraulic models with senior support.
• Inspect infrastructure and write follow-up technical reports.
• Draft documentation and project drawings for final issue.
• Attend meetings including pre-contract visits and client briefs.
