Job summary

Barker Associates, a multi-disciplinary property consultancy, is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our UK team. You will contribute to the delivery of Civil Engineering services across residential and education projects, with hybrid work from our Braintree or London offices.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, develop technical designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and prepare drawings, calculations, and reports under senior guidance. DBS check and a full driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in civil engineering design in a consultancy environment.
• Experience on residential civil engineering projects; education-sector experience desirable.
• Understanding of drainage design, highways design, and infrastructure projects.
• Awareness of SuDS and surface water management principles.
• Ability to prepare technical drawings, calculations, and reports.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience attending client briefs and pre-contract visits.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prepare calculations and hydraulic models with senior support.
• Inspect infrastructure and write follow-up technical reports.
• Draft documentation and project drawings for final issue.
• Attend meetings including pre-contract visits and client briefs.
