Job summary

Eversheds Sutherland in the United Kingdom is seeking a Finance Assistant to join the Cash Management team. You will manage cash transactions worldwide, reconcile bank accounts and ensure accurate processing of payments in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a finance role within professional services, a finance or maths degree, strong numerical skills and the ability to work well in a team or independently.

Qualifications

• Experience of bank reconciliations, payment processing and cash allocation.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good understanding of financial controls and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Processing client and office account payments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitoring and allocating incoming receipts to the correct accounts.
• Preparing and processing electronic payment requests.
• Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Supporting the management of client monies in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
• Assisting with domestic and international payments, including foreign currency transactions.
• Resolving payment and receipt queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and audit trails.
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting activities.
• Monitoring outstanding items and assisting with the resolution of unallocated cash.
• Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Finance and the wider business.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.
