Job summary

TN Recruits is recruiting a Bookkeeper for a well-established accountancy practice in East Grinstead. The role focuses on sole traders with some exposure to partnerships and limited companies, offering a salary of around £35,000 and hybrid working.

The successful candidate will process payments and invoices, enter data in Xero, prepare VAT returns and support year-end accounts in a client-facing environment with opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Solid bookkeeping experience, particularly with sole traders.
• Experience with partnerships and limited companies is advantageous but not essential.
• Working knowledge of Xero; full training can be provided.
• Knowledge of Sage and CCH is beneficial but not essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Professional and personable approach; client-facing confidence.
• Residency within reasonable commuting distance of East Grinstead.

Responsibilities

• Process payments, invoices, income and receipts.
• Enter financial data into Xero accurately.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Identify and flag inconsistencies to assist reconciliations.
• Assist with year-end accounts preparation.
• Manage bookkeeping duties in a client-facing environment.
