Job summary

CV Screen is recruiting for a Bookkeeper & Payroll Assistant role in Marlborough. The position combines bookkeeping across a varied portfolio with payroll processing and VAT submissions, in a hybrid setup.

You will maintain accurate records, meet deadlines and deliver reliable client service. AAT Level 2/3 or equivalent and Xero experience are preferred, with strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
• Experience using cloud-based accounting software, ideally Xero.
• AAT Level 2/3 or equivalent practical experience in bookkeeping and payroll.

Responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping activities across a varied portfolio of clients, maintaining accurate and well-organised financial records.
• Prepare and submit VAT information accurately, ensuring key deadlines are consistently met.
• Process client payrolls, including pension submissions, and ensure employees and clients receive timely information.
• Develop positive relationships with clients, proactively resolving queries and gathering information efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working across the team.
