Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting is seeking a Client Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator for its Marlborough practice. You will manage a portfolio of client bookkeeping records, handle VAT returns, and process payrolls with pension submissions.

You will liaise directly with clients and colleagues, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information remains accurate. AAT Level 2/3 or equivalent experience and Xero proficiency are preferred for this varied, client‑facing role.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping for multiple clients in an accountancy practice.
• AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience with cloud accounting software (Xero).

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare VAT information and ensure VAT returns are on time.
• Process client payrolls and pension submissions.
• Liaise with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Support accounts and tax work with reliable financial information.
• Identify improvements to bookkeeping, payroll, and admin processes.
