Job summary

Team4rec Marlborough, Wiltshire, is seeking a Bookkeeper, Payroll & Accounts Assistant to support bookkeeping, VAT returns and payroll across a portfolio of clients. The role is based in Marlborough with hybrid working options after probation.

You will maintain accurate records, ensure timely VAT submissions, and manage payroll processing while building strong client relationships and contributing to office operations.

Qualifications

• The right candidate will hold a level 2 or 3 AAT qualification, or have demonstratable, equivalent relevant experience.
• A background in practice accountancy is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a portfolio of clients, ensuring bookkeeping is completed to a high standard and supports the efficient preparation of accounts and tax returns.
• Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns within required deadlines, ensuring clients and colleagues have access to reliable and timely financial information.
• Manage payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, ensuring all deadlines are met, pension submissions are completed accurately, and clients receive clear and timely payroll information.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, ensuring financial information is obtained promptly and queries are handled efficiently and professionally.
• Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the office by identifying and implementing improvements to processes, systems and overall working practices.
