Job summary

SCC is seeking a Project Engineer in Nottingham to take ownership of the technical delivery of AV projects and lead the engineering team assigned to them. A full UK driving licence and security clearance or willingness to apply are required.

The role operates within a hybrid work model with core hours aligned to the role. Key responsibilities include overseeing projects from conception to completion, refining BOMs, site surveys, and coordinating with network teams and construction crews.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interaction skills with internal employees, clients, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of risk management, quality control, and safety regulations is mandatory.
• Ability to diagnose complex system problems and work independently to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio is required.
• Knowledge of Stardraw is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with the project manager and provide technical oversight of a project from conception through installation and completion.
• Reviewing and refining Bills of Material.
• Attend client sites to conduct technical site surveys.
• Create a cable and consumables lists for each project to ensure everything required for a successful install is included and available to the installation team.
• Communicate AV pre requirements to Client’s Network teams.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with building contractors to Communicate Infrastructure and architectural requirements to construction teams.
• First point of escalation for onsite engineering during the project.
• Responsible for ensuring allocated technical staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver the required solution.
• Meet with current and prospective vendors to evaluate products.
• Plan effectively and manage tasks in a time-constrained environment.
