Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester is seeking an Automation Technology Engineer to join a small, high‑performing team responsible for deploying, maintaining and continually improving the Manufacturing Control System across 130 assets.

You will optimise PLCs, HMIs and databases, collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering and Quality, and align with IT to enhance cybersecurity and reliability while driving data‑driven decisions and supporting future equipment projects.

Qualifications

Experience in Industrial Automation Technology within a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in PLC programming, ladder logic, HMI/SCADA scripting, and SQL.
Familiar with SCADA/Historian (WinCC Siemens), process control (MES), industrial networks, and related protocols (OPC, Modbus, TCP/IP).

Responsibilities

Deploy, maintain, and continually improve the Manufacturing Control System (MCS) for 130 assets.
Optimise industrial PLCs, HMIs, and databases to ensure data quality and reliability.
Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams for data-driven decisions.
Work with IT to evolve industrial IT infrastructure and support cybersecurity.
Support delivery of new industrial equipment projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
