Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an Assistant Manager Audit to lead audit assignments from planning through to completion in the professional services sector. You will design procedures in line with ISAs and firm methodology, assess risks and supervise junior team members to ensure high-quality documentation and client service.

You will review financial statements for UK GAAP/IFRS compliance, manage planning, budgeting, and timing, and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
• Organised and detail-oriented with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Design and perform audit procedures in line with ISAs and firm methodology.
• Identify, assess and document audit risks with professional scepticism.
• Review financial statements for compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Supervise, coach and develop junior team members.
• Review work and ensure high-quality audit documentation.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as day-to-day contact.
• Support audit planning, scheduling, resource allocation and client meetings.
• Monitor budgets and engagement progress; escalate issues as needed.
• Coordinate with specialists and internal stakeholders for efficient delivery.
• Prepare client deliverables including audit planning and findings reports.
• Stay current with accounting, auditing and regulatory changes.
