Job summary

Babcock is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for the Cadder Yard, Scotland site with hybrid working (3 days on site, 2 from home). You will support commercial management from award to completion, ensuring financial control and effective contract administration on essential rail projects.

Role provides hands-on experience in cost control, commercial reporting, and contract administration within a collaborative team, with a clear path to develop a commercial career in rail infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial, quantity surveying, estimating, or contract administration role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of projects, including cost tracking and reporting.
• Prepare and submit applications for payment, variations, and change requests.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement and contract administration.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
• Attend project meetings and help track risks and opportunities.
