Job summary

United Infrastructure, part of United Living Group, is seeking an established Quantity Surveyor for a site-based role in Argyll, Scotland. The role focuses on cost control, contract administration, and project reporting within our Civils/Infrastructure portfolio.

You will work on projects for SSE, manage budgets, and support post-award commercial activities across Scotland, with opportunities for progression in a growing team dedicated to net-zero objectives.

Qualifications

• Develop accurate cost estimates for projects based on project specifications, drawings, and relevant information.
• Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to establish project budgets and ensure adherence to financial plans.
• Manage project defined costs for all aspects of the project including labour, materials, and subcontractors.
• Analyse and evaluate variations to the contract and provide recommendations for resolution.
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Review and assess contract documents, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and control project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and procurement, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Prepare and present regular reports on project costs, budget status, and financial forecasts.
• Identify potential risks related to cost and contract management and develop strategies for risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial support concerning financial and contractual matters arising through the management of client projects.
• This role involves post‑award contract administration, provision of commercial/contract deliverables, and development of project plans.
• Undertake costs analysis and prepare cashflow forecasts; develop subcontracting strategy as required.
• Contribute to internal project reviews and develop project forecasts.
• Support overhead lines projects and Scotland-based transmission/ distribution initiatives.
