Job summary

Confidential is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join its finance team in Leicester on a 15-month fixed-term contract. The role combines management accounting duties with month-end reporting and financial controls, offering exposure to balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany processes.

You will work in a hybrid model, supporting analysis, journal entries, accruals and prepayments, and will be encouraged to develop professional accountancy skills while contributing to accurate

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a fast-paced organisation.
• Experience supporting month-end processes and preparing financial information.
• Knowledge of journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Willingness to study towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts.
• Support month-end processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies.
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Calculate and maintain provisions for bad debts, bonuses and commissions.
• Support financial analysis, identifying trends and explaining variances within monthly reports.
• Liaise with colleagues across finance to resolve queries and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain effective financial controls and ensure accounting processes are followed.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide support across the wider finance function when required.
