Job summary

North Star Consulting in Crieff is seeking an Accounts Assistant for a varied role in a growing practice. Ideal candidates are at AAT 2/3 level with UK practice experience and familiarity with Sage or Xero. The role is hybrid—4 days in the office and 1 day at home—with flexible start/finish times.

You should live within easy travel distance of Crieff and be prepared to support owner-managed and small business clients. Training and study support may be available.

Qualifications

• UK Practice experience preferred in owner-managed or small business environments.
• AAT Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification is desirable.
• Experience with Sage or Xero accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of FRS 102/105 accounts.
• Data processing and verification of data.
• Maintain sales and purchase ledgers.
• Process invoices and reconcile cash and bank statements.
• Assist with preparing P&L statements and self assessments.
• Liaise with payroll team and respond to HMRC enquiries.
• Produce ad hoc reports and manage Excel spreadsheets.
• Utilise Xero and Sage for day-to-day accounting tasks.
