Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. in Stafford, UK is seeking an Intern for the Control and Protections Systems team within HVDC to support the design and implementation of control and protection systems for modern grids and renewable energy projects.

You will collaborate with world-class engineers, develop skills in PSSE/PSCAD, MATLAB, and system modelling, and contribute to analysis, simulations and documentation under guidance.

Qualifications

• Completion of 2 years of degree-level study in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong interest in HVDC and control systems engineering.
• Eligibility to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of an expert team, gaining design and development skills relevant for control and protection systems.
• Perform analysis, simulation, testing and integration with guidance.
• PSSE/PSCAD and PSSE/RSCAD power system modelling and verification.
• Plant modelling of HVDC systems in MATLAB, PSCAD and RSCAD, and verification.
• Assist in producing technical documentation under supervision.
• Follow standard design practices and engineering reviews.
• Offer solutions outside set parameters with guidance.
