Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead site-based activity across the UK. You will manage multi-disciplinary engineering execution teams and subcontractors on a portfolio of HVAC engineered solutions from handover to final delivery.

You will own the project delivery, including budgets, procurement, logistics and safety, attend project meetings, monitor progress and drive relationships with clients, consultants and suppliers to ensure projects finish on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Project management experience in HVAC engineering, leading projects from start to finish.
• Solid understanding of HVAC/Refrigeration systems in industrial and commercial settings.
• Contract management experience and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of current CDM Regulations and on-site health & safety management.
• Ability to read P&A drawings and schematics.

What you will do

Johnson Controls are a leading provider of equipment, controls and services for heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, industrial refrigeration and security systems. The UK &I Service team delivers innovative maintenance and service solutions to a wide customer base across all industry segments for HVAC, chillers, industrial refrigeration, controls and mechanical & electrical works.

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead site based activity across the UK! You will be looking after our multi-disciplined engineering execution teams and subcontractors across a wide portfolio of HVAC engineered solutions. You will lead all aspects of the execution phase of a project, from initial sales handover through to final completion. Part of your role will be to lead delivery of our YORK products and externally supplied items on time and within budget to a number of our key commercial clients in a variety of different industries such as real estate, healthcare and manufacturing to name a few.

How you will do it

As the Operations Project Manager we need you to take ownership of the overall profitable execution of projects, you will have a sound knowledge of running the financials, all legal requirements, technology and people.

You will take on main contractor duties and handle the selection, ordering, warehousing and logistics of materials as the need arises. As a safety champion you will ensure the safe handover of projects including responsibility for all Health and Safety reporting.

Part of the role is to attend project meetings whilst analysing project progress, auditing engineer’s contracts and standard compliance.

During a project you will develop and build customer, consultant and subcontractor relationships that promote a culture of doing business in line with Johnson Controls ethical standards and applicable laws.

Prepare and deliver clear performance expectations, carry out performance evaluations on direct and subcontract labour and build development plans with all parties, both internal and external.

What we look for

Essential

• Project Management experience in the HVAC engineering industry, leading a project from start to finish including budgets, resource planning, procurement & logistics, alongside the management of Health and Safety.
• Solid understanding of HVAC/Refrigeration systems in both industrial and commercial environments.
• Contract Management experience and supervisory skills.
• Demonstrable knowledge of current CDM Regulations and managing Health & Safety on site.
• Ability to read and understand P&A drawings and schematics

Preferred

• Ability to manage and influence both internal & external partners at all levels
• Working towards a Project Management qualification (APM etc)
• Ideal qualifications are IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH National General Certificate, SMSTS, CSCS Card
• Working knowledge of Pressure Systems Safety Laws (PSSR) and BS EN378
• Excellency in verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
• High level of competence in all Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Project.
