Airco Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd in Watford is seeking an experienced HVAC Installation/Service Engineer to deliver high‑quality refrigeration and air conditioning services at a range of client sites.

You will install, fault‑find, and maintain VRV/VRF, split and multi‑split systems, while conducting risk assessments and liaising with clients to sustain strong relationships. A full driving licence and DBS clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification is required.
• F-Gas/EN 378 compliance is required.
• Experience with VRV systems, Coldrooms, Close Control and Chilled water systems.
• Ability to work unsupervised and read wiring schematics.
• Strong interpersonal skills and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Install air conditioning and refrigeration equipment including split, multi-split and VRV/VRF systems at client sites.
• Diagnose faults and provide effective solutions.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance.
• Manage RAMS and site risk assessments.
• Liaise with domestic and commercial clients to maintain relationships.
• Participate in on-call rota for 24/7/365 support.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and ensure safety processes are followed.
• Ensure high quality standards and communicate with stakeholders.

Airco is looking to recruit an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Service Engineer, with a positive and pro‑active approach to ensure effective service delivery to our clients. We work for a prestigious customer base in a wide range of sectors including pharmaceuticals, petrochemical, telecoms, education, IT, retail, healthcare and local authorities. What Will You Do

• Install a range of air conditioning & refrigeration equipment including split systems, multi‑split systems and VRV/VRF systems within clients' premises.
• Diagnose, identify faults and failures with equipment and systems, providing effective solutions.
• Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate and control all documents associated with reactive & planned preventative maintenance works.
• Liaise closely with the client (Domestic & Commercial) to maintain excellent stakeholder relationships.
• Work in a safe and controlled manner following all necessary internal health & safety processes and client‑specific site requirements.
• Take part in the on‑call rota to support the business achieve its 24/7/365 response.
• Meet & maintain high quality standards.
• Communicate with the necessary stakeholders when required.
• Complete any and all necessary paperwork.
• Review RAMS produced and ensure you manage and maintain any risk, controls in the working environment to maintain colleague and public safety.
• Conduct onsite risk assessments before completing any work.
• Raise project concerns with project manager.

Who Are We Looking For

• A highly experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning engineer with a minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification, F‑Gas/EN 378 compliant.
• Experience with VRV’s, Coldrooms, Close Control, and Chilled water systems.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• High level of interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients.
• Good electrical competence, including the ability to read wiring schematics and test control circuits.
• "Can do" attitude, enjoys working to deadlines, is focused, passionate about work, and can work under pressure when needed.
• Willing to work away from home if required, flexible with working hours and patterns; night work may be required occasionally.
• Full driving licence.
• Must be able to achieve a DBS certificate.
