Job summary

Arup seeks a highly experienced technical leader to drive transmission cable system designs, champion best practices, and serve as the technical authority on HV and AC/DC projects. You will guide teams, manage risk, and ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and national grid standards across complex, multi-site assignments.

You’ll mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, support tendering with cost insights and shape new technology initiatives while engaging clients and regulators to deliver

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with Chartered Engineer status is essential.
• Extensive experience in high-voltage transmission cable design.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams on large projects.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE and grid standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and uphold best-in-class HV cable design practices.
• Lead design teams across HVAC/HVDC projects and lifecycle stages.
• Represent clients, regulators and contractors in technical reviews and tenders.
