Job summary

ISS Facilities Services is seeking an Apprenticeship Qualified HVAC Engineer to join a team of engineers and support maintenance, repair, fault-finding and installation across client properties. The role covers air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilation, with experience in manufacturing environments preferred.

Key qualifications include F-Gas Category 1 and City & Guilds AC&R Level 2 or 3. You will work under supervision and contribute to safe, efficient operation of HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• F-Gas Category 1 certification.
• City & Guilds Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
• Solid HVAC engineering experience, ideally gained within a production or manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Good understanding of HVAC and refrigeration principles, systems and controls.
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools used in maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment.
• Understanding of building codes, regulations and industry standards relating to HVAC, refrigeration and boilers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on a wide range of HVAC systems and associated plant.
• Inspect, repair, modify and install HVAC equipment, including compressors, condensers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps and air handling systems.
• Service and maintain refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems to ensure optimum performance.
• Repair or replace defective components, including thermostats, relays, controls, switches, filters, belts and compressors.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of boilers, heating systems and air conditioning equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant legislation, building regulations and site procedures.
• Support installation projects and system upgrades as required across the estate.
