Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in Southampton, UK, is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to oversee HVAC works delivered by an incumbent contractor on behalf of ExxonMobil. You will act as the primary liaison between CBRE, ExxonMobil and the contractor, ensuring plans, specifications and contract requirements are met.

The role requires strong HVAC knowledge, contract management skills, and the ability to verify contractor outputs, review quotations, and monitor performance against KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Proven HVAC engineering experience in industrial or refinery settings.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services.
  • Experience managing or supervising third-party contractors.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance contracts, scopes of work and variations.
  • Experience reviewing contractor quotations, valuations and invoices.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary engineering liaison between CBRE, ExxonMobil and the contractor.
  • Review planned and reactive HVAC works for technical suitability.
  • Verify contractor works meet scope, specification and contract requirements.
  • Inspect completed works for quality and compliance with CBRE and ExxonMobil.
  • Review quotations, estimates, variations and payments.
  • Validate costs reflect the works completed.
  • Ensure additional works are justified and approved before proceeding.
  • Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, SLAs and contractual obligations.
  • Attend site meetings and contractor progress meetings as needed.
  • Provide technical advice and support to ExxonMobil and CBRE facilities management teams.
