Job summary

Wood Group is seeking a Principal HVAC Engineer on a contract basis to deliver HVAC services across refinery, petrochemical and energy transition projects. Based in Reading, UK, with travel as needed, the role involves leading HVAC design, equipment sizing and technical documentation while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Degree required in a relevant field.
• FEED/EPC experience preferred.
• Experience in managing client briefs and activities.
• Coordination across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Sound technical knowledge of HVAC/building services equipment and systems.
• Good project management skills in HVAC discipline.
• Experience with Oil & Gas sector standards and current green directives.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC engineering activities for projects.
• May act as Lead HVAC Engineer when required.
• Originator/checker/approver for HVAC deliverables.
• Assist planning and scheduling of discipline deliverables.
• Coordinate with all disciplines for deliverables.
• Deliver ventilation system designs, e.g. VFDs, BoD, sizing calculations.
• Prepare equipment specifications and design assessment reports.
• Identify scope/schedule changes per Change Control Process.
• Ensure designs comply with procedures and regulations.
• Ensure work is within budget and schedule.
