Job summary

RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, seeks an HV Technician (Fitter/Jointer/AP) to perform operation and maintenance on utility-scale solar, wind and battery storage sites in the UK and Ireland. The role includes installation and repair duties up to 33kV, with occasional travel and home/office working for other duties.

Ideal candidates are fully qualified 33kV Fitters/Jointers with driving licence and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• HV Safe Systems of Work.
• Knowledge of HV equipment and the ability to identify potential issues.
• Cable Jointing and termination up to 33kV.
• Equipment install up to 33kV.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to health and safety requirements and help maintain safety standards.
• Achieve and maintain Competent Person status, ideally AP.
• Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with RES Safety Rules and Instructions.
• Undertake planned inspection and maintenance of HV Equipment.
• Carry out cable jointing or termination up to 33kV.
• Install new equipment up to 33kV.
• Repair of equipment up to 33kV.
• Write maintenance and inspection reports.
• Assist with troubleshooting and fault-finding on RES plant/equipment.
• Assist with fault resolution in a timely manner.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Occasionally assist with ground maintenance or mechanical work.
• Maintain close communication with O&M office.
• React to emergencies and site outages.
• Occasionally work away from home for training or site coverage.
• Other duties commensurate with the role.
