Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking an experienced Site Manager (Electrical) for central and southern Scotland projects. The role requires overseeing multiple construction fronts, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery of substations and HV works across multiple sites.

You will lead contractors, review methods, and ensure alignment with engineering designs while maintaining excellent safety standards. The ideal candidate has strong experience in electrical substations, high-voltage projects, and

Qualifications

• Electrical transmission or distribution substations experience.
• High-voltage construction, maintenance or commissioning experience.
• Experience managing contractors on complex electrical infrastructure projects.
• Experience working in live substation environments under Electrical Safety Rules.
• Experience with primary plant, protection and control systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and construction specifications.
• Strong site safety leadership and a proactive safety culture.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing daily site activities across multiple construction fronts.
• Ensuring contractor compliance with HSE and quality requirements.
• Monitoring progress against plans and milestones.
• Providing technical oversight and site leadership during construction and commissioning.
• Reviewing construction methodologies to align with designs.
• Managing records, inspections and quality documentation.
• Supporting commercial management by monitoring time, cost and productivity.
• Building relationships with contractors and stakeholders to deliver projects.
