Job summary

NG Bailey Group is seeking an Estimator / Bid Manager to lead LV to 132kV substation tender activities across the UK. The role requires travel to meet customers and oversee costed proposals and risk reviews.

You will review enquiry packs, conduct site visits, coordinate with supply chain, and present bids to senior management and customers. The position emphasizes collaboration across business units and thorough handover on project wins.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in HV Power
• CDM 2015 regulations knowledge
• Minimum 5 years HV engineering in HV/EHV substations
• At least 2 years in commercial estimating/bidding/customer-facing
• Understanding of HV substations equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiry packs and resolve scope queries to ensure accurate proposals
• Conduct site visits to assess project needs
• Create detailed, costed proposals based on direct labour costs and supply chain quotes
• Submit proposals to Senior Management for review and risk assessment
• Compile handover packs for Operations on successful tenders
• Manage the tender process from enquiry to submission and post-tender negotiations
• Coordinate internal and external cost elements to identify risks and mitigations
• Collaborate with customer representatives and other Freedoms business units
