Job summary

OCU Group is seeking an HV Mechanical Fitter for transmission projects in Stafford. You will be hands-on installing and maintaining high-voltage equipment in live substation environments, supporting critical National Grid infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven HV fitter experience in substations or transmission environments.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and single line diagrams.
• Knowledge of high-risk site safety practices and RAMS processes.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain HV plant including switchgear, breakers, transformers, and busbars.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and single-line diagrams.
• Assemble, align and fit mechanical HV equipment on site.
• Support testing, commissioning and energisation activities.
• Follow RAMS, permits, and National Grid safety procedures.
• Identify, report and help resolve defects or non-conformances.
• Maintain tools, plant and working areas to required standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers and other trades to deliver safe installations.
