Job summary

Rubicon Consulting currently seeks two experienced HV Mechanical Fitters for a four-month contract in Kent. You will be responsible for mechanical installation and assembly of HV equipment within an HVDC Converter Station, working with a skilled on-site team to deliver the project safely and efficiently.

You will install high-voltage switchgear, assist GIS installations, follow engineering drawings and procedures, and work at height with MEWPs.

Qualifications

Experience as a Mechanical Fitter in HV substations, converter stations or similar HV infrastructure projects.
CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport is required.
IPAF (MEWP) certification is required for both fitters.

Responsibilities

Mechanical installation and assembly of HV equipment within an HVDC Converter Station.
Installation and assembly of high-voltage switchgear and associated mechanical components.
Supporting GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) installation activities.
Working from engineering drawings, specifications and installation procedures.
Assisting with positioning, alignment and securing of HV equipment.
Working safely at height using MEWPs and access equipment.
Ensuring all installations meet project quality and safety standards.
Working closely with site supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines.
