Job summary

ISS Labour is recruiting experienced HV Substation Fitters for major power upgrade and substation projects across the UK, including London, Scotland and Midlands. Up to £400 per day (DOE, CIS) offers a hands-on role delivering critical grid infrastructure.

Role involves mechanical installation, assembly of HV equipment, busbars and supporting structures. Applicants should have National Grid experience and be able to work from engineering drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical installation and assembly of HV substation plant and equipment.
• Ability to install transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, isolators and HV components.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and following technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical installation and assembly of HV substation plant and equipment.
• Installation and positioning of transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, isolators and HV equipment.
• Installation and assembly of steelwork and aluminium structures.
• Assembly and installation of busbars, conductors and fittings.
• Mechanical bending, forming and cutting of busbars and conductors.
• Installation of disconnectors and earth switches.
• Aligning and adjusting HV equipment.
• Installation of equipment supports and structural steelwork.
• Supporting installation and commissioning teams as required.

I'm currently recruiting experienced HV Substation Fitters to join a growing team delivering major power upgrade and substation projects across the UK.

Role Requirements

• Mechanical installation and assembly of HV substation plant and equipment
• Installation, assembly and positioning of transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, isolators and associated HV equipment
• Installation and assembly of steelwork and aluminium structures
• Assembly and installation of busbars, conductors, connectors and associated fittings
• Mechanical bending, forming and cutting of busbars and conductors
• Installation and assembly of disconnectors, earth switches and operating mechanisms
• Mechanical fitting, alignment, levelling and adjustment of HV equipment
• Installation of equipment supports, brackets, frames and associated steelwork
• Assembly and installation of mechanical components and equipment
• Working from engineering drawings, technical specifications and installation instructions
• Carrying out mechanical checks and ensuring equipment is correctly installed and aligned
• Supporting the installation and commissioning teams as required
