Job summary

Air Utilities Limited is seeking an experienced HV/LV Connections Project Manager to own electrical connections projects from sale to energisation and completion. You will manage both LV and HV workstreams, coordinating design teams, DNO/IDNO processes, and client communications from inception to close-out.

You will lead budgets, health & safety compliance, and stakeholder engagement with customers and subcontractors, delivering projects on time and in scope across multiple concurrent

Qualifications

• Experience managing electrical connections projects end-to-end.
• Knowledge of LV and HV connection processes and DNO/IDNO procedures.
• Experience leading design teams and reviewing electrical designs for compliance.
• Solid understanding of ESQCR, IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and DNO/IDNO technical specifications.

Responsibilities

Job description

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced HV/LV Connections Project Manager to take full ownership of electrical connections projects from point of sale right through to energisation and final sign-off. You'll be the single point of accountability for programme, budget, technical compliance, health & safety, and client communication — managing both Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) connection projects concurrently, each following its own distinct delivery process. What You'll Be Doing

• Taking ownership of projects immediately after sale, confirming scope, contract and customer requirements
• Acting as lead contact for customers, internal teams, subcontractors and statutory bodies
• Instructing and managing the design team to ensure output meets scope and regulatory requirements
• Owning all DNO/IDNO relationships — applications, queries, negotiations and approvals
• Building and maintaining project programmes from design through to energisation
• Owning project budgets: cost tracking, forecasting, variance management and reporting
• Ensuring works comply with health & safety legislation, CDM Regulations and internal SHEQ policy
• Coordinating site resources, subcontractors and materials procurement
• Managing variations, change control and customer communication on scope or cost changes
• Leading project close-out, including compiling completion/O&M packs
• Reporting project status, risk and financials to management

On the LV side, you'll manage everything from design instruction and DNO/IDNO applications through to construction, testing, energisation and close-out. On the HV side, you'll additionally handle substation design, protection and control philosophy, long-lead equipment procurement, and coordination of DNO witness testing and switching programmes.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Demonstrable experience managing electrical connections projects through the full project lifecycle, from point of sale to energisation and completion
• Strong working knowledge of both LV and HV connection processes, including DNO/IDNO application and approval procedures
• Experience managing design teams/consultants and reviewing electrical designs for compliance
• Solid understanding of ESQCR, IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and DNO/IDNO technical specifications (e.g. G81, G99/G100, ENA guidance)
• Experience with CDM Regulations and construction health & safety management
• Proven track record of project budget ownership and commercial management
• Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with DNOs/IDNOs, customers and subcontractors
• Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple concurrent projects

Desirable

• Recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM PMQ)
• NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification
• Background in electrical engineering, electrical contracting or utilities
• Experience with HV switching / Authorised Person frameworks
• Familiarity with NRSWA/street works processes and wayleave/easement negotiation
