Job summary

Hitachi Energy is offering a Field Service Apprentice starting in October 2026, combining college study with on-site training to join the High Voltage Service team and develop practical engineering skills while working towards a recognised engineering qualification.

The role involves installing, testing, commissioning and servicing Hitachi Energy High Voltage equipment on customer sites, alongside experienced engineers, and gaining exposure to GCB, DTB, LTB, protection and control systems, and

Qualifications

• Engineering or technical studies required.
• Full driving licence required.
• Willingness to travel for site-based work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning at customer sites.
• Support Field Service Engineers during site activities involving HV equipment.
• Learn commissioning procedures for HV control, protection, monitoring systems.
• Assist with fault finding and rectification under supervision.
• Coordinate safely with customers, contractors, and subcontractors during project execution.
• Develop knowledge of HV products and drive systems.
