Job Description

Position: HV Electrical Supervisor

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Life insurance, health insurance + other benefits

Location: Central London

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm

Your Duties

1. Supervise and oversee subcontractors and specialised subcontractors.
2. Evaluate the work quality of the client's labour and its subcontractors.
3. Ensure consistent adherence to BAM FM's safe working practices.
4. Manage productivity and drive maintenance activities towards completion dates.
5. Act as the senior electrical/technical expert for high-voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
6. Lead and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical switching operations, including plant isolation and restoration before operation.
7. Identify and address risks associated with electrical work, implementing necessary control measures and developing comprehensive switching schedules.
8. Offer expert guidance and technical support to operational teams, ensuring safe and efficient high-voltage electrical system operation.
9. Perform regular audits and inspections of electrical equipment, facilities, and work procedures to detect potential hazards and ensure safety compliance.
10. Collaborate with the BAM FM Project team, Site Manager, external contractors, and Network Operators to achieve successful project outcomes.
11. Investigate and document electrical incidents or near-miss events, pinpointing root causes and suggesting corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
12. Stay informed about the latest advancements and best practices in electrical engineering and high-voltage systems, sharing knowledge and introducing improvements when suitable.
13. Keep the BAM FM Senior Technical Manager informed about any on-site issues.

Who are we looking for?

1. Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering.
2. Preferably completed a high voltage training course within the last 3 years.
3. Extensive experience in electrical engineering, focusing on high-voltage systems and operations.
4. Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations, codes, and standards.
5. Excellent understanding of high-voltage electrical systems, equipment, and protective devices.
6. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor team members.
7. Good problem-solving and analytical skills to assess risks, make decisions, and troubleshoot issues.
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex technical concepts.
9. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
10. Knowledge of renewable energy systems and grid integration.
