Job Description

Data Centre Shift Supervisor

Location: London

Hours: 06:00 – 18:00 & 18:00 – 06:00 (Continental Shift Pattern) 42hrs a week

Job Role

As the post holder, you will be expected to have extensive understanding of Critical Facilities/Data Centre infrastructure (Electrical, Mechanical, and DC specific infrastructure). You will be responsible for effective inspection, operation, and maintenance of all associated assets within the Data Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate all M&E systems within the Data Centre effectively, including HV Electrical isolations/operations, considering business risk and energy use. Provide technical reports and recommendations.
  • Ensure Specialist Sub Contractors conduct works in line with approved procedures and sign off worksheets after inspection.
  • Cover additional shifts when needed due to leave or absence.
  • Report all work orders accurately, including critical spares/stock used.
  • Review and prepare MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and risk assessments.
  • Complete shift handover reports, noting significant events.
  • Promote QHSE compliance activities and participate in training.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement of safety systems.
  • Supervise completion of maintenance tasks and support training of technicians and apprentices.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance processes.
Skills Required
  • Experience in Data Centre or Critical Environment operations or supervisory FM role.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in relevant field or Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Ability to lead under pressure and deliver services within time constraints.
  • Willingness to undergo training and possibly stay away overnight.
  • High initiative, proactive attitude, and ability to follow instructions.
Desirable
  • HV Authorised Person.
