Job description

Are you a passionate and committed Humanities Teacher looking for your next long-term opportunity? A reputable secondary school in Northampton is seeking a dedicated Humanities Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis, starting in September 2025 and continuing through to the end of the academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and supportive school environment where the Humanities department plays a central role in enriching students' educational experience. The successful Humanities Teacher will deliver inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of KS5 depending on experience.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Humanities subjects (such as History, Geography, or Religious Studies, depending on your specialism)
  • Support students' academic and personal development through high-quality teaching and learning
  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
  • Uphold the school's values and maintain high standards of classroom behaviour


Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Essential)
  • UK-based teaching experience in Humanities (Essential)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred
  • Excellent subject knowledge and strong classroom management skills
