Design Technology Teachers Needed Northampton
Full-Time & Permanent Roles Starting September 2025

Are you a passionate Design Technology teacher looking for your next opportunity in Northampton? Tradewind Recruitment is working with several local secondary schools seeking enthusiastic and skilled Design Technology teachers to join their teams this September.

This is a great chance to inspire students to develop practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities across a range of technology disciplines. In this role, you'll deliver dynamic lessons that cover a broad range of technology disciplines, including product design, resistant materials and graphics. You'll play a key role in helping students develop technical skills, innovative thinking, and practical knowledge, preparing them for GCSE success and beyond.

The role includes:

  • Designing and delivering stimulating and practical Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Using a variety of teaching methods to engage students and cater to different learning styles

  • Supporting students' understanding of core concepts such as design processes, materials, manufacturing techniques, and emerging technologies

  • Promoting creativity, innovation, and critical thinking through project-based learning and hands-on activities

  • Assessing and tracking student progress and providing constructive feedback

  • Collaborating closely with colleagues to develop a broad, forward-thinking curriculum

  • Contributing to extracurricular opportunities such as technology clubs, competitions, or STEM events

Who we're looking for:

  • Qualified teachers (QTS or equivalent) with experience teaching Technology

  • Passionate about fostering creativity and technical skills in students

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Suitable for both experienced teachers and early career teachers (ECTs)
