Education at Ivy Resource Group in Gloucester is seeking a full-time Humanities Teacher to join a secondary school from after October half term through Christmas. The role covers History and Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a stronger emphasis on History, and involves full teaching duties within an established Humanities department.

The successful candidate will engage learners, uphold high expectations for attainment and behaviour, and collaborate with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching History and/or Humanities within a secondary school setting.
• Ability to teach Geography at Key Stage 3 and 4.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

• Planning and delivering high-quality History and Geography lessons.
• Creating engaging learning experiences that promote student progress and achievement.
• Assessing, monitoring, and recording student attainment and progress.
• Providing constructive feedback to students to support their development.
• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Preparing students for examinations and assessments where required.
• Attending departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events as required.

• Maintaining accurate records and completing all associated marking and administrative duties.

Humanities Teacher

Temporary, Full-time

We are recruiting for a full-time Humanities Teacher to join a secondary school in Gloucester from after October half term through to Christmas. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching History and Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a greater emphasis on History. Full teaching responsibilities are required throughout the assignment.

The school is looking for a teacher who can bring their subject to life in the classroom, challenge students to think critically, and maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour. This is a full teaching role within an established Humanities department and would suit both experienced teachers and strong ECTs.
