Job summary

Autograph Recruitment is supporting a growing manufacturing and engineering business in the Forest of Dean with the appointment of an experienced HR Officer / HR Advisor. This role offers a mix of practical HR delivery and strategic input, enabling ownership of processes and close collaboration with managers to improve engagement and build a positive working environment.

You will provide practical advice on HR policies, support employee relations cases, coordinate recruitment and onboarding,

Qualifications

• Good understanding of HR processes and current employment legislation.
• Ability to support managers with employee matters and to handle sensitive information discreetly.
• Experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in manufacturing/engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical advice to managers on HR policies and employee matters.
• Support employee relations cases, including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and employee changes.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Support training, development and performance-review activities.

• Support wider people and culture projects.

Your responsibilities

What we re looking for

• Previous experience in an HR Officer, HR Advisor or similar generalist role
• A good understanding of HR processes and current employment legislation
• Confidence supporting managers with employee matters
• Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
• A proactive and approachable working style
• The ability to handle sensitive information with discretionA CIPD qualification, or progress towards one, would be welcomed
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering or a similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential
