Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a motivated HR Officer to join their HR Operations team. This role offers opportunities for career development within a supportive environment while providing essential HR operational support to managers and staff on various HR matters including sickness absence and grievances.

Qualifications

The HR Business Partnering and Operations team are looking to appoint a HR Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of the HR Operations team and wishes to develop a career within HR.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working within HR, is a confident communicator, proactive and self-motivated, but most importantly we are looking for someone who is passionate about what they do. In return you will be given the opportunity to develop and grow as a HR professional within a compassionate and inclusive team.

The is an agile role which will include home working and working across Trust sites.

Main duties of the job

As a HR Officer you will be assisting in providing operational support, advice and guidance to managers and staff on the full range of HR matters including sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance matters and local terms and conditions.

Qualifications
  • Certification in Human Resource Practice - CIPD Foundation qualification in HR (Level 3) or equivalent qualification or equivalent level of knowledge/experience
  • GCSE at Grade 5 / C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Experience
  • Previous experience of working within Human Resources or equivalent knowledge.
  • Experience applying HR policy and practice to practical situations, or equivalent knowledge.
  • Experience of consultation with Trade Unions
  • Delivery of training
  • Experience of working in the NHS
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment practices, HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Computer skills including experience in the use of databases, Word, PowerPoint and Excel evidenced by the ability to produce reports and tables and present statistical information in a clear format.
  • Up to date knowledge of Employment Law.
Other
  • Ability to travel to other sites or external meetings as required
