About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Hub Manager to join the Provider Services Team. You will have responsibility for two Children’s Homes, the Edge of Care Service and the Supported Lodgings/Staying Put arrangements.

We are looking for a Hub Manager who has in-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations (2015) and is able to provide support and oversight to the Registered Managers. Both children’s homes have recently been rated Good by Ofsted; they are registered for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and learning disabilities. One is registered for 5 children and one for 6 children; both have an emergency bed. We are currently reviewing the residential offer in terms of the size of the homes and their therapeutic offer. You will register with Ofsted as the Responsible Individual and be heavily involved in developing Trafford’s residential offer going forward.

The role requires good knowledge of The Children’s Act 1989 and the focus on supporting families to remain together. The Edge of Care team is dynamic, effective and fast paced and provides a core service within Children’s Social Care. It works with young people and their families/carers to build and re-build sustainable relationships in families.

The Supported Lodgings and Staying Put offer is established with plans to develop it further and develop a Staying Close offer. It is a key part of the sufficiency strategy for young people providing a home from home environment with good quality support.

Your style and approach will reflect our values and behaviours: you will be committed to continually learning & improving the way you do things to ensure effective outcomes; valuing and respecting others’ contribution, you will work together to deliver services; you will take ownership of your actions and strive to get things right. You will have a working knowledge of relevant legislation and health and social care systems to ensure the best outcomes for young people. Trafford has a relational practice model which drives forward the approach to working with young people, their families and professionals.

You will be able to demonstrate experience in managing and developing staff, alongside leadership abilities and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare.
