We have an exciting opportunity for a Hub Maintenance Engineer to join our Warrington Hub Team. On a day-to-day basis, you will report to our Senior Engineer who will assign PPM and project work across the shift; there is limited facilities work.

Job purpose:

You’ll be joining a team of Engineers working across a PANAMA shift pattern (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off) across Days and Nights. The team is responsible for Reactive Maintenance and PPM across the Hub.

The Hub features cutting-edge equipment and systems including:

• Interroll Sorters
• Caljan and Sovex boom Conveyors
• Profibus and AS-i bus systems

Once assigned your work projects, you will decide the best approach and proactively find solutions to complex issues. You may work with external Engineers on certain projects, as well as with wider optimisation groups and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

To join us, you should be a multi-skilled Engineer, ideally with an electrical bias. Experience in Fault Finding across PLCs and knowledge of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations would be beneficial.

You do not need to have worked specifically in a distribution centre; experience in a multi-skilled role within FMCG, Automotive, or Manufacturing sites, along with a willingness to learn new skills, is also valued.

Experience/Qualifications:

• A qualification in an Engineering discipline (e.g., City & Guilds) or demonstrated relevant experience and skills
• Experience and knowledge in Automation are essential
• Electrical knowledge with mechanical understanding of Drivers, Belts, Motors, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Compressors, Dock Levellers, Roller Shutter Doors, Bar Code cameras/scanners, and general maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Minimize downtime on Mission Critical Equipment through quick response and good practices
• Manage and adhere to the Company Safety Policy and procedures, ensuring staff compliance
• Follow instructions from the Senior Engineer or Engineering/Site Manager
• Communicate effectively with Operational management, Machine Minders, and others
• Assist in planning, detailing, and scheduling preventive maintenance
• Monitor and liaise with external contractors on site
• Stay informed of technical developments relevant to the Hub functions and recommend improvements
