Job description

Role

As a key member of the Café team you will:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of food and drinks
  • Welcome and respond to queries from a diverse community of college members, students and visitors.
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene and allergen standards, keeping our spaces clean and inviting at all times.
  • Replenish stock and help keep the café running smoothly day-to-day.
  • Support colleagues by opening or closing the Café, handling transactions and providing support to other members of the team when required.

This is a varied and hands on role, perfect for someone who enjoys a lively environment and takes pride in delivering great service. This is a part-time, permanent role (24 hours per week) offered on an annualised hours basis, with some evening and weekend work to support the needs of the College.

Experience and Skills
  • Experience of providing great customer service and a genuine desire to make people feel welcome
  • Experience in preparing food (such as sandwiches and soups), with an understanding of food safety, hygiene allergen regulations
  • Level 1 Food Safety qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • The ability to stay calm during busy periods, work flexibly, and use your initiative-both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
